Summer Sand Bath
The sand bath is an old desert therapy. In summer the surface of the dunes warms naturally, and local therapists use that heat together with traditional massage and argan oil to ease muscles and joints. It is a calm, private experience arranged at the camp.
The experience
You lie on warm sand while a therapist covers the body with heated sand to the depth that feels comfortable, then follows with a Moroccan massage using argan oil. Sessions are private, quiet and paced to the person receiving them.
The sand bath is not a medical treatment, but many guests find it deeply relaxing after a long drive or a day on the dunes.
When it is available
Sand baths need hot surface sand, so we offer them from late May to early September, usually in the morning or late afternoon when the temperature is right. Sessions are by appointment and subject to the therapist's availability.
