Arriving on the day

Drive to Merzouga village and follow the signs toward the Erg Chebbi dune line at Rass Rmel — the road to our parking area is passable in any car. Park beside the camp and walk in, or call us and we will meet you. If you arrive by bus (CTM or Supratours stop in Merzouga village), tell us your arrival time and we will collect you.

The journey

How to get to Merzouga

However you come, the last ten kilometres are flat tarmac straight to the dunes.
±7 hours

From Fes

The most popular route: through Ifrane, the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, Midelt and the spectacular Ziz Valley gorge, then south to Merzouga. A beautiful drive — leave by 8am and you reach us for the sunset camel ride.

±9 hours

From Marrakech

Over the Tizi n'Tichka pass through the High Atlas, past Aït Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, then along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We strongly recommend breaking the journey with a night in the Dades or Todra gorges.

±5 hours

From Ouarzazate

The gentlest approach: east through the Draa Valley landscapes to Alnif and Rissani, then on to Merzouga. Good roads all the way; a normal car is perfectly fine.

±2 hours from ERH

By air

The nearest airport is Errachidia (ERH), with domestic flights from Casablanca. Fes (FEZ) and Marrakech (RAK) are the main international gateways. Tell us your flight and we will arrange a driver to meet you.
